Today- American Apparel

You may remember my post about American Apparel skirts about a month ago and my attempt to order one online. I ordered a Californian Tulip skirt in red and February 23, 2009 and I was told that my order had been backlisted but new stock would come in two weeks. Now, a month after the order, I still haven't heard anything from American Apparel. When I tried to view my order status on the website, my order number could not be found. Also, there is no customer service set up in Australia, so that makes it hard to know what is going on. So yesterday I decided to give up on online ordering and go to the American Apparel shop. I felt so annoyed at the process that I decided to skip university and go today. I know thats extremely silly and I should have waited until I had a day off. I'm always doing stupid things, I can't believe the things I do sometimes lol. It took me a few hours to get to the store and back and it was extremely inconvenient. I was waiting around at stations for ages because the connections weren't the best. But I wanted to get my visit to American Apparel out of the way and to create certainty as to what the skirts were like.

I bought two California Tulip skirts from the store, one in red, and the other in purple. The material is fairly thick, but not too bad. It feels like the inside of a tracksuit and I couldn't wear it in really hot weather, but its fine. I like the length of the skirt. I considered purchasing the jersey skirt with pockets but I couldn't believe how thin the material was. The website doesn't show this. I was totally shocked and it was not worth the price. I didn't like the fabric of the polyester microfibre skirt since it was too shiny and a little cheap looking. Overall, I think the Californian Fleece Skirt is the best item in the shop and better value than other items. The skirts were expensive, considerably more than I would normally spend on clothes. But I decided to purchase two skirts anyway because I probably won't ever be going back there, given that its far away.

Here are the pictures of what I bought. Sorry for the 'in the mirror' shots. I just thought they showed the skirts better than the photos that I normally take. I also had a lot of trouble getting a good photo tonight lol.

Four Things Tag

A few weeks ago, Demi tagged everyone to do the 'Four Things' tag and since I've never done one of these before I thought it might be a bit of fun.

Four places I go over and over:
1) Local Shopping Centre- I love it there. I go at least once a week and enjoy seeing a movie at the complex too.
2) University- not by choice thats for sure. I hate university.
3) Rydog's house- I go there about two or three times a week. Unfortunately I usually don't have time to go during the week because I should be studying.
4) My room- For sleeping, studying and using my computer.

Four people who email me reguarly:
1). Facebook- informing me that someone has commented on my photo or written on my wall. Sometimes totally pointless things as well.
2). Rydog- but mainly we talk on the phone or via instant messengers.
3). Various shops that I have given my details too- fairly annyoing, I should delete some of my subscriptions to their newsletters.
4). I can't chose the last one- probably spam, totally random things.

Four favourite smells:
1) Freshly baked cakes.
2) Perfume.
3) Pizza.
4) Flowers.

Four places i'd rather be:
1). Shopping.
2). Sleeping
3). Away on a holiday
4). Rydog's house

Four tv shows I watch:
1). Eastenders
2). The Bill
3). Frasier
4). Wife Swap
(there are so many more than four)

Whats in my Bag?

Yesterday I went to university and this is what I had in my bag. Very boring, I know. Probably If I'd gone somewhere better than university it would have been more exciting. Oh well, I think its a bit of fun.

My bag I bought from Billabong at the beginning of last year. It was a little expensive, but I liked it and it is good quality. Also, Billabong is a very popular brand here in Australia. On my bag I have a London keyring which my sister bought me from England last year:).

1. My folder. I should have taken a better picture of this because I covered it myself. It used to be plain red and it covered it in heart paper and clear contact and put velcro on the inside. A big improvement I think.

2. Pink, lined paper. I bought this from university last week. The university I go to seems to have an obsession with coloured paper because they sell paper in four different colours and almost all our exams are undertaken on coloured paper.

3. My pencil case.

4. Hair Comb.

5. Keys. I have my house keys and car keys as well as a small cat keyring.

6. Contract Law textbook. Very boring of course but understandable and a good textbook in comparison to others.

7. Small red makeup purse. Normally I keep my keys, Ipod and phone in here so they don't get lost or damage in my bag during the day.

8. Chanel wallet. My boyfriend's Mum bought me this about a year and a half ago. I think its from a different country but I can't really remember.

9. Phone. Nokia 6120.

10. Ipod.

11. Lipgloss. Normally I take more makeup with me but considering its university and I don't have any friends there anyway, I don't see any point. It normally stays on for most of the time I'm there anyway.
