Harbour Cruise

On Saturday night Rydog and I attended a cruise on Sydney Harbour for Rydog's work Christmas party. The company he works for puts on this same event every year and it is the second year we have attended. It is truly a fantastic event and one of the highlights of the year. The harbour cruise provides a beautiful setting and fun atmosphere and the free drinks and food are always of high quality. I also love the opportunity to dress up! I had a fabulous night and I'm actually very sad its over now. We were extremely lucky to have warm and sunny weather for this event. After a week of almost non-stop rain right up until Saturday morning, I can't quite believe the weather was so fine. It was rather windy on the boat so I managed to snap a few outfit pictures before I left.

I wore a dress which I bought four years ago for my school graduation formal. This is only the third time I've worn it and I wish I had more opportunities to do so. I can't believe that something I bought so long ago could still be one of my favourite dresses. To me it is a classic dress and will probably never go out of style.

Purchases + Juliette Miracle

As I mentioned in my last post, I just finished my fourth year at university and I am on summer holidays for the next three months. It is truly an amazing feeling to have all that academia out of the way and to have this time to focus on other areas of my life. This year has been very demanding and challenging for me in a number of ways so I definitely think I need a rest and some free time now. I am planning to make this holiday as relaxing as possible in terms of work and study. I was considering finding some more work, in addition to the part time job I have at the moment, and I have thought about summer school to reduce my workload for next year. However, I have decided against them both. I was thinking the other day that this will be the last long summer holiday that I ever have. Next year, I will be married and there will be pressure to seek additional work to pay for the myriad of expenses that come with independent living. I will be fully self sufficient in approximately a years time so this is my last summer where I can avoid many obligations and responsibilities. I definitely want these changes to happen. I am very much looking forward to getting married, having my own flat and not being a student any more. These are the changes I have so desperately wanted for years as I felt depressed and as though my life was going no where. However, there are some positive elements about being young and carefree and I hope to enjoy them for the very last time these holidays.

Unfortuantely it has been raining for most of the last week here which is very uncharacteristic of this time of year. I feel cheated of my summer holidays although I'm sure there is some warm weather to come. I really hope it is not raining on the weekend since I am attending a harbour cruise and a picnic. In the absence of outfit photos for the week, I thought I would show some of my recent purchases. I went shopping this week and my final order from Modcloth arrived.

Marc Jacobs Daisy
I've been looking to find this particulary perfume at a reasonable price for many months now. Last week I finally found it at almost half the usual price at a discount chemist. I love it and the daisy bottle is adorable!

Modcloth Three Quarters Past Cute Cardigan
The crochet design on this cardigan is so gorgeous, unique and sweet. It is one of the prettiest cardigan designs I've ever seen and I love it so much. However, it is very hard to style and I'd like some suggestions on what to wear it with.

Modcloth It's Bow-time Cardigan
I love the adorable bows and lace on this cardigan. It is very versatile and will go with many of my outfits.

Modcloth Lacy Luck Skirt
Perfect! This is one of the best items I have ever bought and I love it so much. My favourite aspect is the shape. It fits me perfectly and is very flattering to my shape. I've never had another skirt which does that as well as this skirt does. The shape is what sets it apart from other skirts. The lace and large buttons are fabulous details, the length is just right and I love the colour

Item of the Week 016

Today I am featuring yet another pair of shoes for my item of the week post. I know there hasn't been much variety in these posts lately but I am cetain this will be the last post about shoes for awhile. I have always loved shoes but for some reason my love for them has substantially increased this year. I have way too many shoes in comparison with clothes now. I simply cannot resist the perfect pair of shoes. I bought these shoes in my last modcloth order and they are called the All Dressed Up Heel. In my opinion, these shoes are perfect. I cannot speak highly enough of them and I am so happy to own them now. I adore the beautiful shade of teal contrasted with the gold detailing. I love the shape of the heel and the sweet t bar strapes. I also like the fact that these are a statement shoe and different from what I already have in my wardrobe. I'm never going to find someone with the same shoes where I live! I already have a few ideas of what I will wear them with. I like the idea of my purple dress with gold detailing and a plain black dress which I am wearing on a harbour cruise next weekend. I can't wait to wear them for the first time. I'm also very impressed with the quality and detailing of these shoes. The leather component makes them very comfortable. I like the fact that they came well packaged, with the Seychelles bag and extra heel tips. It's small elements like this that make me believe these shoes are worth the price.

I finished my last exam today and I am officially on summer holidays now! This particular exam was very hard, I'm not even sure if I would have passed but there is nothing I can do now so I will put it behind me. In my opinion, there is no better feeling than finishing university for the year and having three and a half months of freedom ahead. I honestly cannot believe that I have just finished four years of a law degree. I never thought I would even get into law after I finished school so every day it amazes me that I have come this far.

Outfit Essex Excursion Dress

Today I wore my new dress from Modcloth, called the Essex Excursion Dress, for the first time. I love this dress so much, it is the perfect addition to my wardrobe. I can't speak highly enough of it. I adore the peter pan collar and this is the feature that drew my attention to this dress in the first place. I wish more clothes had peter pan collars. The ship print is so unqiue. I was unsure about the print upon seeing it on the website but it is so sweet in person and I love it. My favourite part of the dress is the layer of tulle underneath which gives it the perfect shape. I think it's hard to find dresses with this shape so it is definitely a feature. It actually gave me the idea of sewing tulle onto some of my existing dresses. The dress actually came with a belt of the same material but I like it better with the red belt. Instead of going for the obvious choice of red shoes and bag, I decided to pair the dress with nude accessories mainly so I could wear my new modcloth shoes.
