Outfit

I had to contend with failing light in order to take these pictures yesterday evening. As a result, the pictures do not do my outfit true justice; I wish they had been so much better. This is what I wore shopping on the weekend with my mum. It's Rydog's birthday on Tuesday so I helped her choose out his presents.I'm very pleased with what we bought and I'm sure Rydog will love his gifts too. I also bought myself an Alannah Hill cardigan on the weekend which I will show you all soon. There have been some good sales at Alannah Hill lately so I've treated myself to a few items in recent weeks; I very rarely  purchase Alannah Hill due to the price tag and I usually only receive this label as a gift so I think the one off expenditure is justifiable. Its made me very happy and excited!

Wishing you an enjoyable week ahead.

Wishlist: 4 Dresses

Wishlist: 4 Dresses
Wishlists appear to be a very popular type of post within the blog world and it has been an extremely long time since I've made one so I thought a 4 dresses wishlist would make a fun post. I'm thinking of making this a regular feature of my blog by posting four items in a particular category that I wished I owned. I decided to start with dresses since they most accurately reflect my style.

Alannah Hill- I am Very Nervous Dress
This is one of the sweetest and most beautiful dresses I have seen in a very long time. I am so obsessed with this dress right now; I find myself thinking about it at random intervals throughout the day. It is perfect and totally my style since it is covered in bows, has a peter pan collar and is red and pink. On Monday, while I was at university, my lecturer told me that he's noticed I wear a lot of pink and red and that is how he started to recognise who I was each week in class. I never actually realised how much red and pink I wear until that comment but it is true. I've been taking note of it more now. It turns out I've worn pink and red for the last four consecutive days. The point is that red and pink are completely representative of my style!  Also, it is not just the physical appearance that makes this my dress, it is the title too. I am very nervous would probably sum me up in a sentence so it turns out this is my namesake dress too.

Alannah Hill- The Saddest Day Dress
This dress is just so pretty, beautiful and gorgeous that I'm instantly drawn to it. The white is so angelic and adorable and I love the incorporation of the little polka dots and the red bow. The frills and shape of this dress are equally outstanding. I think that my love for this dress stems from the fact that I have very few white clothes. I own a couple of white tops and that's it. I like white clothes; my lack of them is actually not intentional. Consequently, I would be so happy and excited if I owned this incredible dress.

Rachel Antonoff- Crimson and Collars Dress c/o Modcloth
There are no possible words to explain my love for this dress. I've felt this way for a very long time now; I've admired this dress on Modcloth on multiple occassions. Last year when I made purchased from Modcloth I desperately wanted to buy this too but I simply couldn't justify the price plus the international shipping charges. I am drawn to this miraculous dress because it is red; as I mentioned above red seems to be my colour. Also, the collar is striking, unique, fabulousand simply perfect. The combination of the collar and the pleats is adorable.

Alannah Hill- Strickly Confidential Dress
Recentlygreen has become one of my favourite colours to wear and I am building up quite a collection of green clothes. You may have noticed this in my recent outfit posts here and here. There is a real element of class, style and sophistication with green. Also, how adorable is the bow which is featured at the front of this dress? A bow can instantly transform an item and make it totally representative of my style. I love the contrast between the girly-ness of an oversized bow against the less girly colour green. While in David Jones yesterday I saw a sale assistant wearing this dress in the Alannah Hill section and it looked amazing. This is what really drew my attention to the dress since it provided an indication of the shape and length of the dress which are certainly features.

These are just a few of the dresses I long to own at the moment; my love and desire for dresses is potentially endless but don't we all feel that way? IAlannah Hill is my favourite Australan designer and Modcloth is my favourite international website. I wish you all an enjoyable weekend. Unfortunately it will probably be raining all weekend here. I just want some sunshine so I can take outfit pictures!

A Weekend Away

On Friday night,I enjoyed an epic night out in the city with Rydog and my sister; we'd planned this night for so many weeks in advance. My sister desperately wanted to expose me to a couple of Sydney night clubs since, despite having lived in Sydney for my entire life, I'd rarely been to one. I am the kind of girl who either sits at home knitting on a Friday or Saturday night or who only ever goes out in one of the three suburbs surrounding home.  Yes, I enjoy it that way but a change for one night was certainly fun too. We decided to make the experience more fun by staying overnight in the city on Friday and having lunch and shopping on Saturday.

We stayed at the Quay West Suites. This was my view waking up on Saturday morning...

The Quay West Suites were incredible and beautiful; I cannot speak highly enough of them. It was definitely one of the best accommodation I have ever stayed at. We never expected to have such a fabulous view of the city. The only disappointing part was we didn't have enough time there; by the time we met up on Friday night after university and with check out at 10am the next day it was just too short.

On Saturday we had lunch at Pancakes on the Rocks and took pictures in the  telephone booth (as per usual upon visiting this location).

Friday night was fun; more on that later once I have a chance to coordinate my outfit photos.

I also thought I'd make this into a proper outfit post. My black skirt that I mentioned in my last post arrived in the mail on Friday (in only two days!) and I'm very happy with it. It's so good to finally have a black skirt again and I am absolutely amazed by the amount of outfits I can create with it. Despite having lots of clothes, I often lack basics so this skirt was definitely a much needed purchase. The jacket is a gift which I received for my birthday from Rydog's family. I've only worn it a couple of times because I like to save it for best. It's one of my favourite ever items. I like how it adds instant style and class to an outfit. The green top used to be my mother in laws and the other day she gave it to me. She accidently shrank it in the dryer so now it fits me. It's 100% wool and I don't have anything like that so I love it! It made me think of how interesting it is that clothes usually have a story behind them.

Outfit

As I'm sure you are probably aware, my presence in the blogsphere has been rather minimal lately. On many occassions in the last few weeks I've felt very uninspired and had nothing exciting to post. I'm sure you can relate to this. I've seen so many bloggers says similar so it seems almost inevitable that these feelings will at some point be experienced. Also, my obsession with knitting has basically taken over my life! Every time I'm in the house (or even out of the house, on occassion), I reach for my knitting over anything else including the computer and university work. This has actually become quite a problem; it is just so addictive. I've loved knitting for awhile now but this year I've taken it to a new level. I'm working on a few different projects and I am trying to knit my first jumper. It is taking forever! Anyway, I should be blogging more frequently now. I've missed you all.

The combination of a large floral hair bow, pink coat, high heels and an Alannah Hill handbag makes me feel like the ultimate girly girl; this totally reflects my style. This headband is one of my favourite items that I own at the moment. I love it and it's reasonably comfortable too. I've been wearing it often. The same applies to my skirt. I adore the shape and it is so versatile; definitely a winter staple for me this year. I also ordered this skirt online in black today so I'm very much looking forward to that arriving. I've been in need of a decent black skirt for a long time now. The blouse is one of my latest purchases and most worn items right now. I believe it's a little more unique that what is generally found in the stores around here. The print is actually little spades, in case you can't tell that from the photos. The best part, in my opinion, is without a doubt the peter pan collar. I wish more clothes had peter pan collars.

How have you all been recently and during my absence from the blog world? Not much is happening with me except for the standard; university, work, wedding preparations, knitting and watching the crime channel. We sent out the save the dates for the wedding this week (since we are having an out of Sydney wedding) which makes me realise how close and real this actually is. I mean, it must be fairly official if people have received their invites, right? This has caused me to experience a wide range of emotions recently. Of course it is very exciting, but it has also reminded me to try and enjoy the final months of being a student, living with parents and not working full time. Maybe all those aspects of my life that I complained about for many years were not so bad after all. There is definitely a lot to look forward to in the future but it just made me realise that there are good and bad aspects of both situations.

I'm so happy about the absence of rain in Sydney this May!

Juliette Princess Miracle

Today I thought I'd share some pictures of the beautiful Juliette Princess Miracle. She is simply miraculous! I love Juliette more than I could ever describe and she has brought me incredible happiness in the time that I've owned her. I couldn't ask for a better cat, she is perfect in every way. She has a beautiful, affectionate personality and she is stunningly attractive. Her colourings are becoming darker so I often call her magical colour changing cat.

Have an enjoyable week! I'm looking forward to my first relaxing week in a long time since I've now handed in all my assessments. I can't wait to get back into blogging and knitting.
