Outfit

It's still raining continually in Sydney; I can't actually remember the last time it rained so much. I heard on the radio today that it's the wettest month in six years. Fortunately I have a few outfit pictures saved up from when it was sunny. This is another one of my favourite cardigans; I bought it last year and showed it in here. I've worn it on many occasions and I'm surprised I haven't completed an outfit post on it before. I'm sure it goes without saying that I adore the really sweet cherry print and the overall colour scheme. I like the little cherry detail at the back. I also love the fact that its a wool cardigan; an item which is rather difficult to find at reasonable prices here. It's so warm and comfortable. This outfit, which is a favourite, was the inspiration behind a similar outfit which I posted here; simply substituting my cherry print cardigan with my floral cardigan. The red dress is so versatile and a good base for an outfit. These red heels are a reliable old favourite; I wore them long ago here. The black heel against the red shoe is a lovely touch. A kind woman stopped me in the streets in the city to tell me how much she admired them; little compliments make the day so much better.

I'm starting work during the week; my unemployment is officially over. There are no possible words to explain how nervous I feel right now. I'll let you know how it goes.

Outfit

It's been raining non stop for days now and for the first time ever I was very brave and ventured out into the cold for some outfit pictures. Anyone who knows me in "real life" would tell you that I don't deal with the rain very well; even the smallest amount of rain makes me worry about my hair texture or my shoes and clothes getting wet so this was a big deal for me. I felt like a very dedicated blogger; it was absolutely freezing taking photos.  I'm not too sure if it will be happening again. I have no idea how those of you living in locations much colder than Australia, manage to do it! At least these pictures capture the true nature of winter; it's not always bright, warm and sunny here! It also gave me the chance to show you my new coat from Review, my new scarf  and my lovely heart umbrella which never makes an appearance. I won this Topshop scarf from a giveaway on Hamida's blog which is called Loosely Tied to Fashion. I was so excited to win and very happy that it is so beautiful and totally my style. The design is so sweet and gorgeous. It is officially my favourite scarf I've ever owned. I also noticed that it's much warmer than the scarves they sell in Australia which is very helpful especially since I'll start getting up early in the cold for work soon. So much of my thinking revolves around the prospect of work at the moment. Even though I shouldn't be spending too much money on clothes right now I've bought a few warm winter clothes and pieces for work which I will show you later. I thought this coat would be great for traveling to and from the big city for work  especially given that it's longer than any of my other coats. It was also a bargain! It's from the current sale at Review and there was only one left which was luckily in my size. Don't you just love it when that happens? By the time this coat had been discounted a number of times, in combination with me being a Review member, it ended up being 70% off the original retail price. Just like the one which I posted here, I've found some great deals when it comes to coats. I love the bright pink, especially the way it stands out in the winter. I also adore the buttons and the peter pan style collar (which is difficult to see while wearing a scarf).

Wishlist: 5 Sunglasses

Last week I was contacted by Vision Direct, a website which provides customers with an extremely wide range of designer sunglasses, contact lenses, optical products and prescription eyewear at reasonable prices. I always love discovering websites that I didn't know about before, especially when I genuinely adore the product range. The website is very user friendly; I found it helpful to be able to sort through the products based on elements such as frame shape or type, colour, purpose or price. The sunglasses have UV protection and guarantees. I thought this would be a good opportunity to create a wishlist and show you some of my favourite sunglasses from the Vision Direct website. In accordance with my style in general, I love colour and unique designs when it comes to sunglasses; it's always great to find a stunning classic pair too.

Marc Jacobs MJ 455/S Limited Edition 401/HD
These Marc Jacobs sunglasses are my absolute favourite! I love the polka dots, the detailing and the shape. The main reason I am drawn to this pair is because I am obsessed with the Marc Jacobs perfumes; I received the Dot fragrance last Christmas and I'd totally love to get sunglasses to match. I mean surely that's a necessity, right?! I'd find that so incredibly exciting!

Tiffany&Co TF4022B 80274B
These Tiffany & Co sunglasses are so classy, chic and sophisticated; I like the relatively small size and the shape. I adore the colour scheme  and it's a lovely touch to incorporate the beautiful unique shade of Tiffany blue. I can imagine this pair would be very versatile; I can already think of so many outfits which these sunglasses would complement. I find this pair absolutely gorgeous.
 Sunglasses - Tiffany & Co. TF4022B

Versace VE4203 915/11
These Versace sunglasses are the sweetest and prettiest shade of violet lilac ever; I am always drawn to beautiful purple. The shade and size is super stylish and these would be perfect for a variety of different occasions. In addition to purple, they come in a few others colours. The burgundy salmon combination is stunning; it really stands out and is just so unique.

Dolce&Gabbana DG4016 697/55
I know I've written a lot about colour in this post, but my wishlist just wouldn't be complete without some reference to my favourite colour of the season, this gorgeous azure or duck egg blue shade as it is often called. I love it how the lenses are also blue, it's a lovely fashionable addition to this piece. These sunglasses also come in yellow, blue, orange, black lace crystal, grey brown leopard, floral fantasy pink and floral fantasy grey.

 Sunglasses - Dolce & Gabbana DG4016

Sting SSJ563 06Z7
The main aspects which stands out to me about this pair are the affordability and the colour range. I'm sure it goes without saying that I personally adore the pink pair because they are so fun and it's one of my favourite colours. The first thing I thought when I saw these was"it's so pink" and I always mean that as the biggest compliment. In addition to this lovely and girly shade of pink, you can also purchase these in white or red.

If you're looking for sunglasses then I definitely recommend Vision Direct.

Outfit

I've been looking forward to showing you my Alannah Hill 'Her Diamond Love Coat' for quite some time now. With the colder weather at the moment, I'm wearing it frequently so I thought it was about time my wonderful and exciting coat was featured on my blog. This is undoubtedly my favourite coat I've ever owned which certainly makes the cold weather much more bearable; I can't believe I've actually enjoyed having a few colder days so I can wear my coats. One of the reasons I feel this way is because I waited so many months to wear this; I bought it out of season at the Alannah Hill factory outlet (my absolute favourite shop in the entire world for a bargain) for 65% off the original retail price. This was from the Alannah Hill Autumn/Winter collection of 2012. In accordance with my style, I'd definitely describe Alannah Hill as always girly, classic and chic, in comparison with many other labels where the style is more transient in nature and closely tied to the current trends. This means that Alannah Hill pieces can easily be worn from year to year and will never look out of place. This is why I love waiting a few months until my favourite pieces make it to the Alannah Hill factory outlet where I can acquire a bargain even if I am technically wearing pieces from previous seasons. There are a few specific aspects of this coat that I adore; namely the oversize buttons, the tiered hem and the plaid design. I love plaid; you may have noticed that I often comment on other blogs saying I wish there was more of it around, so this was quite a find for me. This coat also comes in pink but I went for blue since I already have way too much pink in my wardrobe and 'duck egg' blue is one of my favourite colours at the moment (I posted about it here and here). I like the way the matching shoes to the hair bow make this outfit pop.

These shoes are from Ruche, a website which I've been totally in love with ever since I discovered it here.I was very impressed with the price, quality and customer service. These are one of the most unique pairs of shoes I've seen and I simply adore the floral embellishments. The silver and turquoise combination is so pretty.

I hope you're all having a great week!  Life has been a lot better for me recently; I've kept busy and enjoyed some fun times with family and friends. I've finally managed to attain some employment which starts in two weeks time; it's only a three week contract but it's at a law firm and it's a start. As many of you know I've been unemployed for this entire year and prior to thatI was a full time student, so the workforce is a very foreign concept to me so I am extremely nervous. Even though full time work scares me more than anything, establishing a career for myself is what I want more than ever right now. I've struggled a lot with the concept of being unemployed and even getting myself to this point has been so difficult. As the months passed by, I felt like an outsider, watching the world go by while I sat at home alone almost all day everyday. The isolation was awful. I questioned the point of life every single day and felt completely worthless as though I was contributing absolutely nothing to life. I felt like nothing I ever did was good enough, I might as well give up and I was inferior to everyone else  who worked. I've never been a confident person but any small amount of confidence I had at the beginning of this year was completely eroded over my months of unemployment. I wasn't in a good place in my life. It felt so unfair; I'd spent five years at university to acquire two degrees yet I was the one unemployed. To make matters worse I knew I wasn't unemployed because I wasn't smart enough, it was because I didn't have the self belief  or motivation to put myself out there or give myself a chance. I felt trapped in a cycle; losing even more confidence to apply for jobs as every day passed. When I finally was successful at a job interview, I had to wait months and months for it to start, only to find out that my future employment prospects with that company may not be as secure as I'd initially thought. I was devastated after months of putting all my effort into preparing for that particular job. All my hopes for the future were pinned to this job; it was so much more than a job for me, it was about overcoming personal obstacles and proving to myself that I was worthy of using my law degree. I'd received false hope for months and simply couldn't face possibly returning to having no employment prospects again. Fortunately, I was successful at gaining my three week contract with a completely different firm very soon after which allowed me to remain positive. I'll try my absolute best at this temporary position and see where it takes me. Here's to moving forward and not looking back!

Latest Obsession: Yellow

The reason why I dedicated an entire post to yellow is because of my recent love-hate relationship with the colour. For many years I used to hate yellow, I'd wear any other colour except for yellow or orange and I'm not even sure why that was the case. Over time I've come to appreciate yellow a lot more; it is just so happy and bright and exerts extreme positivity. I like how much of a statement a bright yellow item can make.I came to like yellow gradually; I mentioned here how my sister bought me an amazing pair of  yellow heels last Christmas. I've also worn them here and here. It was these shoes that converted me into loving yellow. Now I often like to wear lots of yellow in an outfit such as here. Yellow remains the most uncommon colour in my wardrobe; I'd love to get a pair of patent yellow flats and a 1950s cut yellow dress. How incredible are those Kate Spade flats?

Snow White Inspired Outfit

One morning a few weeks ago, when these photos were taken, I felt an overwhelming desire to dress up in a Snow White inspired outfit. A number of people, both on my blog and in 'real life' have compared me to Snow White; a complement which I love and always makes me happy. The first time I was ever compared to Snow White was at my local shopping centre when I wore this outfit. Also, I've seen a couple of other bloggers creating outfits inspired by Disney Princesses; I thought this was very creative and wanted to give it a try myself.  This look is part of a series I wanted to create over time of Disney Princess insspired looks. Once I was satisfied with my Snow White look, a myriad of ideas came to me; for Tinkerbell, Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty inspired outfits. It was so much fun. Although pleased with the final result, I initially found Snow White difficult because I have never owned a yellow skirt.  After much deliberation, I remembered this strapless yellow dress which I wore frequently last summer. It was one of my first yellow pieces, in an attempt to make me like yellow; this did eventually work, I am totally converted now. Once I had the base of a yellow skirt, the rest of the outfit easily came together. I realised that the essence of any Snow White inspired outfit is block primary colours; probably any combination of these colours would remind me of Snow White. I decided to remain true to form, opting for my only blue cardigan and red accessories. When I posted my chevron printed dress here, the red bag I paired with it was described by many as being an apple. This different dimension provided inspiration for my look too; such a unique accessory was just asking for the creation of a whole Snow White to go with it, surely? It would have been exciting to take these photos in a forest; very in character.

Outfit

I've worn this cardigan many times recently; it has easily become one of my favourite pieces this season. As I mentioned in my post about it here, I love the versatility; I like to incorporate bright colours for a fun look or pair it with similar colours for a classy vintage look. This look came together when I decided to wear my always reliable green skirt which I've posted here and here; it's such a fabulous colour. I chose the shoes because they incorporate both green and black; they are also very comfortable and unique. I'm sure you've probably noticed that I usually only wear one style of heels; reminiscent of a classic pump either with or without straps, so this is about as much variety as you'll probably ever see from me in terms of shoes. This is the first time they've made an appearance on my blog; I found them on eBay for the most amazing price quite awhile ago. I decided that it would be fun to style this look with my rainbow stripe bag which is another bargain from eBay. This was a random idea; maybe I was just in the mood for rainbow stripes!

eFoxCity Collection

Recently I discovered and started working with eFoxCity, an online store which provides a wide range of wedding dresses, special occasion dresses, men's clothing, women's clothing and jewellery for very reasonable prices. I thought this would be a great opportunity to show you some of my favourite items; since I especially love dresses and vintage fashion, I am particularly drawn to the vintage wedding dresses and cheap party dresses. eFoxCity ships to most countries thereby providing everything from cheap dresses for Europe to casual clothing for America to jewellery for the Oceanic region. There is a myriad of choice so I recommend you familiarise yourself with eFoxCity; I certainly love discovering stores that I didn't know about before.
